Physics can be deceiving -- the dude's hair was actually modeled after my own.swb15 months ago#1906reply

:)Haha you really are experimenting with a lot of different drawing styles. I personally like simpler visuals which draw the focus to the content and topic of the message/satire/joke. This one draws the viewer's focus to the faces of the subjects rather than what they're saying.
Just my thoughts :)sean15 months ago#1910reply

8oI prefer the simpler visuals as well. It's amazing how much the drawing changes the joke.swb15 months ago#1913reply
i agree, i hate the joke like thisAnonymous15 months ago#1915reply
Commissioned comicsThat is a stroke of genius. ^.^ I think that they may be right with the art here, I fear. It needs to stay a bit simpler or the joke is lost. Doesn't have to be stick, but you should consider avoiding attention drawing colors unless it is deliberate and give a bit less detail (IMO, i'm just trying to be a critic). =PJosh15 months ago#1925reply
I agree with swb - attention shifts to the faces of the subjects rather than what they're saying. Some humour works better with simpler drawings. In the T-Rex comic after this one, on the other hand, the T-Rex's expression is a big part of why it's funny, so in that case the more complicated drawing is justified.Esn15 months ago#1932reply
The detail in a comic definitely changes how it reads. You could try telling the same joke all week with different meaning given to it just by the level of detail in different parts.
Like a baby joke, and first it's the baby that's detailed and the other people that are stick figures, then vice versa...

Umm... Guns harm people, actually that is all they do. Well handguns at least. I mean if you had put guns maybe you could have gotten away with the whole hunting argument... but you put handguns; something that specifically was invented to kill people. Yeah,... fail.Anonymous14 months ago#2064reply

In reply to Anonymous, comment #2064:
Idiot. Guns are tools. I have used a handgun in self defense and hunting. I use it for enjoyment at the a gun range - how is that different from you smoking that marijuana I'm sure you love. You aren't against guns. Just close-minded in the fact that you don't like people who like guns. Inteliigence fail. Anonymous13 months ago#2155reply
Smoking: Harms you and you=people
Beer: See above
Handgun: Terrible for hunting and self defence is harmful to the offender
Gay marriage: Arguably (by many of those who oppose it) harmful to the soul

Everyone here has completely missed the point. Civil Liberty is not about getting high and shooting people in the face while having gay sex. It's about the fact that all men are created equal(some more than others) and since everyone is equal it is wrong for one to have control over another, except in the case when one is obviously out of control and hurting innocent people. Even if you do not agree with the actions of another and can argue it all day long, the right of one to do it should still be protected, once again; as long as it's not harmful to others. Furthermore, any attempt to blur the line between what's obviously destructive to other people(like stabbing people in the throat because it feels good to your sick little mind) and simply throwing a hissy fit about something that's not going your way, like people smoking in restaurants(FYI: That greasy double cheeseburger with a side of chili-cheese fries and diet coke(because you have to watch your weight) is going to kill you a lot faster than a lit cigarette across the room) will be nothing more than an immature, manipulative attempt to draw attention to yourself because you're "passionate about change" or "equality" or other things you know nothing about. The bottom line is, a person's right to live their life in any peaceful way they see fit should be protected, no exceptions. Want to argue with that? Here's just one list of people who are ready to hear you out.
